This explains what Mike Clark Trucking collects through mikeclarktrucking.com, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to describe what the website actually does rather than to cover every possibility.

The short version

  • We do not sell or share your personal information, and we never have.
  • We do not store your IP address.
  • We do not use tracking cookies, and there are no advertising trackers on this site.
  • You do not need an account, and you do not need to give us anything to see a price.

What we collect, and when

When you ask for a quote

Your name, email address, phone number, company if you give one, the delivery address, the date you need it by, any notes you add, and the materials and tonnage you priced. We keep the price we quoted you along with it.

When you contact us

Your name, email address, phone number if you give one, and your message.

When you apply for a job

Your name, email address, phone number, city and state, driving experience, license class and endorsements, whether you hold a current medical card, anything you write in the message box, and your resume if you attach one. Resumes are stored privately and are only opened by us.

If you create an account

Everything above, plus your billing address, an accounts-payable contact if you add one, and any job sites you save — including gate codes and access notes you choose to store. If you apply to buy tax-free for resale, we also hold your seller's permit number, the legal business name on it, and the certificate you upload.

While you browse

We record which pages are visited and a few things about how the quote builder is used — for example that a price was viewed, and the tonnage and total involved. This is measured with a random code that lives in your browser tab and is thrown away when you close it. It is not a cookie, it does not follow you between visits, and it is not connected to your name or email.

We also record an approximate location — your city, state and country — which our hosting works out from your connection. Your IP address itself is never stored. We keep the town, not the address.

Why we collect it

  • To quote and deliver. We cannot price a load without knowing where it goes, and we cannot deliver without a way to reach you.
  • To answer you. Contact messages and applications reach a person.
  • To run the business. Quotes and messages are copied into our own dispatch system so the office can act on them.
  • To improve the site. Knowing how many people saw a price and did not order tells us whether our pricing or our website is the problem.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your information. A small number of companies handle data on our behalf so the website can work:

  • Supabase — stores the database and uploaded files.
  • Vercel — hosts the website and provides basic visitor counts.
  • Resend — delivers notification emails to our office.
  • OpenStreetMap — when you enter a delivery address so we can work out the mileage, that address is sent to OpenStreetMap's lookup service. Nothing else about you goes with it.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.

How long we keep it

  • Quotes, messages and orders — kept as business records, because they may be needed for billing or a dispute.
  • Job applications — kept while we are hiring and for a reasonable period afterwards.
  • Website measurement — deleted after about 13 months.

Ask us and we will delete what we are not required to keep.

Your choices

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends either signal, this site does not measure your visit at all. That includes our own measurement and our host's. You do not have to ask us.

California residents. You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and ask us not to sell or share it. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the request will always be honored. We will not treat you differently for asking.

To make any request, call or email us using the details below. We may need to confirm who you are before we act, which protects you as much as us.

Text messages

Our driver and subhauler dispatch texting is separate and opt-in. Phone numbers given for dispatch texts are used only for that, and are never sold or shared. Reply STOP to any message to end it.

Children

This site is for a construction and hauling business. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Security

Access to customer records is restricted to our staff and protected at the database itself, not just in the website. Uploaded resumes and certificates are kept in private storage and are opened through short-lived links. No system is perfect, but we do not keep what we do not need — which is why there are no card numbers and no IP addresses in our records.

Changes

If we change how we handle information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
